"Problems"
Last week, as I was
(leave) my office, I
(notice) one of my coworkers
(to be) still
(work) at his desk. I
(walk) over to him to say "good night" as I usually
(do). However, this night
(to be) different than other nights because he
(seem) to be in a sad mood. When I
(ask) him about what
(am,bother) him, he
(say) "nothing" at first. I
(continue) to
(ask) him questions because I was really
(worry) about him. He then
(tell) me that his wife was in the process of
(divorce) him. When I
(hear) the news, I
(feel) extremely sorry for him. Apparently, his wife was angry at him for various reasons. First, she felt that he was never
(help) her with housework. Second, she was always
(complain) about his
(come) home from work late although he
(say) it was part of his job. Of course, she
(not, think) drinking with coworkers was job related! Finally, she
(make) her decision to divorce when he
(come) home from work with another woman's lipstick on his collar. When I
(ask) him about the lipstick and
(question) him further, he
(break) down and
(start) to cry. He said that he had
(make) a mistake and
(have) an affair. I could tell that he was deeply regretful of his actions, but I understand his wife's feelings. If the same thing happened to me, I
(not,know) what I would do. I
(not, know) what else to say in order to
(relieve) his depression.
